My dark and lovely

My dark and lovely.

You remind me of an alluring spice,

taken from the bark of balsam,

it’s scent scattered amongst the trees of the forest.

Let me hear your voice.

Gaze at me through the window.

Show me your face.

My love, your like a lily among thorns.

My dark and lovely.

Your like heavens fallen angel.

Who fell from God’s grace,

because amongst you I feel tempted.

My dark and lovely,

your as sweet as a mint vine.

More distinct than a fibrous root,

germinating through arctic caps.
