The Snowflower

She’s the only flower that I saw,

blooming in the flowerbeds during the snow.

Everything else appeared frozen,

chilled into solid ice,

by the bitter frostbite.

But she was the only flower that remained,

the only flower whose roots lay deep,

facing the sky like the sun was out.

Standing erect.

Despite the temperature.

She’s the only flower that I saw,

blooming in the flowerbeds during the snow.

She’s the only flower,

whose pollen was strong enough,

to awaken the bees during the winter.

The petals scent,

smelled like a rose bush,

surrounded by fertilized grass,

or the opening of a virgin.

She’s the only flower that I saw,

blooming in the flowerbeds during the snow.

It feels never ending; like forever.

Something for every season; every moment.

I saw you inside of this snowflower.

Your strength, your will,

dedication, determination.

Your desire to succeed and push forward.

While everyone else quit,

I saw your love for me; your passion.

She’s the only flower that I saw,

blooming in the flowerbeds during the snow.
